Talk Thrifty to Me
Every trendsetter wants to be fashionable on a dime. Clearance racks and one day sales are great, but sometimes one can find some awesome hidden treasures at your local thrift store. The thing about thrift stores is you can find one of kind vintage pieces and put your own sparkle to it.
Some people may turn their nose at secondhand stores due clothes being gently loved, but there’s nothing a little washing powder or dry cleaning can’t cure.
Often, one can find designer brands and even new items (still with the price tags.) See below for a couple of our favorite items from the local Goodwill store.
Perusing around the pant rack, Jamie found Mango pin stripe skinny jeans for $2.99. The Goodwill tag had $5.99, but it was 50% off the entire store. The black vest was found at Goodwill store in Florida, which is another good tip. If you’re out of town and happen to pass by a local thrift shop, stop and check it out. The beaded clutch is also a vintage find at a flea market for $2.
Ashanti’s outfit cost a whopping $7 including the shoes! The color swirl dress is from Goodwill for $4 and the belt was an added accessory from her closet to cinch the waist. Shoes are black Nine West pumps, a phenomenal Goodwill score as they were brand new for only $3.
These are just a few examples of the fabulous finds, stay tuned for more thrifty tips and pointers in upcoming segments.
